DENTAL HYGIENE e-LEARNING PORTFOLIO
education

From 2010-2014, I attended Saint Paul Catholic High School in Niagara Falls, ON, and graduated with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. My best courses were: Chemistry, Biology, Health Science, Mathematics, French, and Italian. One course which really stood out to me was Career Studies, where I had to focus on a profession that I had a desire for: Registered Dental Hygienist.
From 2014-2015, I was in the Pre-Health Sciences Program at Niagara College Welland Campus, and graduated with an Ontario College Certificate. I finished with the highest average in the program, earning the Pre-Health Sciences College Program Award of Excellence. Due to my background of achievement in science courses, it allowed me to demonstrate superior scholastic ability and outstanding clinical performance in the labs, earning the Dr. LWC Sturgeon Memorial Scholarship.
From 2015-2017, I completed the Dental Hygiene Program at Niagara College Welland Campus on the President's Honour Roll, and graduated with an Ontario College Advanced Diploma. Demonstrating ambition and dedication throughout the program not only allowed me to obtain the Niagara Scholar Award seal on my diploma, but the Dental Staff award as well.
I wrote the NDHBE on September 18, 2017 and passed! I completed all of my requirements to become registered and am officially a Registered Dental Hygienist since October 24, 2017.
After a few years of practicing dental hygiene as an RDH, I plan to increase my education further and obtain a bachelor's degree at Brock University as I am interested in becoming a Dental Hygiene Educator. I enjoy educating and helping others so I feel that I can see myself taking on this role of an RDH as well.
