During my second and final year in the Dental Hygiene Program,
I started to become more involved in the program and on campus
than just focusing on my studies.

My involvement includes:

  • Open House Volunteer

    • Niagara College High School Open House (October 24, 2016)

    • Niagara College Fall 2016 Open House (November 19, 2016)

    • Niagara College Spring 2017 Open House (March 24, 2017)

-Providing insight of the Dental Hygiene Program and offering campus tours, including
the Niagara College Dental Clinic, to future students.

  • Peer Tutor (September 2016-August 2017)

-Tutoring first-year dental hygiene students to aid their success in courses.

  • Peer Mentor (September 2016-August 2017)

-Providing support, help, and encouragement to other students in the Dental Hygiene
Program, including first-year dental hygiene students.

  • Shiny Smiles Clinic Volunteer (April 7, 2016)

-Taking prescribed radiographs for the dentists restoring the teeth of high risk children;
a special clinic that is offered for a limited time in the Niagara College Dental Clinic.

Due to my engagement and involvement in the Dental Hygiene
Program on campus, I earned the Student Engagement &
Leadership Award for Outstanding Peer Mentor in March 2017.
